Please read these Booking Terms and Conditions carefully, as they outline the rights and responsibilities of Mourne Homestays (“we”), you (“the guest”), and the property Owner. They are legally binding and comply with applicable holiday let regulations in Northern Ireland.
1. DEFINITIONS
- “Booking” means a confirmed reservation at a Mourne Homestays property.
- “Owner” refers to the registered proprietor of the holiday property.
- “Holiday” refers to the period of your stay at the property.
- “Property” is the accommodation listed on Mourne Homestays’ website.
- “Cautionary Deposit” is the security deposit paid to cover damage, loss, or additional cleaning.
- “Party List” means all individuals staying at the property.
- “Check-in” and “Check-out” times refer to the agreed arrival and departure windows.
2. THE CONTRACT The contract for the holiday rental is between you and the Owner, with Mourne Homestays acting solely as agent. A booking becomes binding when confirmed in writing by Mourne Homestays. You must be over 18 years of age to make a booking.
3. OWNER’S OBLIGATIONS The Owner agrees to:
- Provide the Property in a safe, clean, and habitable condition.
- Comply with all legal obligations in Northern Ireland, including fire safety, gas and electrical certifications, and insurance requirements.
4. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES You agree to:
- Use the Property solely for holiday purposes.
- Respect the maximum occupancy stated in the booking.
- Keep the Property clean and report any damage.
- Not smoke inside the Property.
- Not host parties or events without written approval.
- Provide a list of all guests prior to arrival.
- Observe any property-specific terms issued at the time of booking.
- Use utilities responsibly and never use domestic plugs to charge electric vehicles.
5. PRICE AND PAYMENT
- All prices are quoted in GBP and confirmed at time of booking.
- A deposit is required to secure the booking.
- Payments may be made via bank transfer or debit/credit card.
- Non-payment may result in cancellation and forfeiture of monies paid.
6. CANCELLATIONS BY YOU
- All cancellations must be in writing.
- Refunds depend on the timing of the cancellation and whether a replacement booking can be found.
7. CANCELLATIONS BY THE OWNER If the Owner cancels the booking:
- A full refund will be offered.
- Mourne Homestays may offer alternative accommodation where available.
8. LIABILITY
- The Owner and Mourne Homestays accept no liability for loss, damage, or injury to guests or their belongings, except in cases of proven negligence.
- You are responsible for the supervision of all guests, especially children.
9. BROADBAND, FIREWORKS, AND OTHER USES
- Internet access is not guaranteed and may vary.
- Fireworks and candles are not allowed without express permission.
10. PERSONAL DATA
- Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- We will only use your data to manage your booking or with your permission.
11. GOVERNING LAW These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.
